COVID-19 update – 21 October 2020

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 in Western Australia overnight.

The confirmed case is a Filipino crewman in his 40s on board the bulk carrier, Key Integrity. Note: this case was made public yesterday.

There are now two positive cases on this vessel which is docked at Fremantle Port – both are isolating in their cabins. The remaining 18 crew have returned negative tests and remain on board.

The AL Messilah also remains docked in Fremantle and a deep clean of the vessel is underway.

The State’s total confirmed cases now stands at 739.

There are 40 active cases being monitored by WA Health and 690 people have recovered from the virus.

Yesterday 769 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 759 were assessed and 758 swabbed.

There have been 469,045 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 79,604 were from regional WA.
