WA Health is reporting one new case of COVID-19 overnight.
The man, in his 50s, is a returned traveller from overseas who remains in hotel quarantine.
The State’s total is now 1094. To date, 1079 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
WA Health is monitoring six active COVID-19 cases in hotel quarantine, including the case reported overnight.
Testing clinics
Yesterday, 512 people were swabbed at State-run clinics. A list of all testing clinics is available on the HealthyWA website. To date, there have been 1,732,949 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 203,618 are from regional WA.
COVID-19 vaccinations
Since vaccination numbers were reported on 17 September, 52,270 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been recorded in WA, of which 28,392 were second doses. The total includes 4649 historic COVID-19 vaccine doses*. These figures represent COVID-19 vaccinations at State-run clinics and doses given as part of the Commonwealth rollout**.
Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination bookings for Western Australians aged 60 years and above are now available (external site). People in this age group can visit rollup.wa.gov.au (external site) to register and book an appointment at a State-run COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
Western Australian children aged 12 to 15 years are now eligible for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination (external site). Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit rollup.wa.gov.au (external site) to register and book appointments for their children in this age group.
There will be a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the 2021 Perth Royal Show (external site) which opens on Saturday. The ‘Roll up for WA’ hub will also offer free kids’ activities and fun giveaways.
Pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Pilbara communities (external site) are available this week:
- The Tom Price Community Vaccination Clinic runs from 9am to 6pm, 17 to 21 September, at the Tom Price Community Centre, Central Road.
- The Paraburdoo Community Vaccination Clinic will open 9am to 6pm, 23 September, at Ashburton Hall, Ashburton Avenue.
A COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Midland (external site) is also open 8.30am to 4.30pm seven days at Centrepoint Shopping Centre on Great Eastern Highway. The centre has four-hour free parking, is close to Midland Train Station and has replaced the Redcliffe clinic.

In line with all other Australian jurisdictions, travel from New Zealand is now treated as travel from an international location (external site).
Australian states
- New South Wales is in the extreme risk (external site) category. This means travel from NSW to WA is not permitted, except under strict conditions.
- Victoria is in the high-risk (external site) category. Anyone entering from Victoria, or who has travelled through Victoria, in the past 14 days is subject to strict conditions
Variants
To date, 157 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – including 53 Alpha strain, 15 Beta strain, one Gamma strain and 88 Delta strain.
