Cancer research grant applications open

Applications are now open for research grants in the 2020 Collaborative Cancer Grant Scheme.

Grants of up to $65,000 are available for WA-based early to mid-career cancer researchers undertaking projects in the fields of laboratory, clinical, epidemiological, psychosocial, behavioural science and health service research.

One grant has been earmarked to support implementation of the WA Cancer Plan 2020-2025. The recipient of this grant will need to be undertaking research that aligns with one or both of the following Plan’s priority two strategies:

  • Implement Optimal Care Pathways to guide the delivery of consistent, safe, high quality and evidence-based care (strategy 1)
  • Actively engage primary and community care practitioners as key care providers across the cancer pathway (strategy 4).

More than $300,000 is available for this round of the scheme. Funding is provided by the WA Department of Health, Cancer Council WA, Cancer Research Trust, Charlies Foundation for Research, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, the University of Western Australia and Telethon Kids Institute to support cancer research in Western Australia.
