About fifty Western Bulldogs players and staff received a COVID-19 vaccination this morning, administered by WA Health COVID-19 vaccination nurses from the Child and Adolescent Health Service.
The side rolled up their sleeves in WA to protect themselves and the community against COVID-19.
Vaccine Commander Chris Dawson commended the Western Bulldogs Football Club for promoting vaccination.
"It is vital that, around Australia, we maintain the momentum and keep the vaccination rate rising,” Commissioner Dawson said.
"Having high profile people in the community, such as the Western Bulldogs, roll up their sleeves and get the vaccination can only be a good thing.
"Now I urge all eligible Western Australians aged 12 and up who haven’t been vaccinated to ‘Roll up for WA’ and do so."
The Commissioner said that people intending to visit the Perth Royal Show this week would be able to walk in to the Claremont Clinic and get vaccinated without an appointment.
Thousands of spots are available every day for people to walk-in and receive their first COVID-19 vaccine. Those who need a second dose should already have a booking and are urged to keep their appointment.
“It’s a very easy process, simply turn up, check in at the administration desk and then receive your first dose,” he said.
People can also book a vaccination appointment at one of more than 100 State-run COVID-19 vaccination clinics around the State by visiting www.rollup.wa.gov.au
More than 2.2 million COVID-19 vaccination doses have been administered in WA.
