COVID-19 update: 4 April 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 6,082 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 52,211 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 231 people with COVID-19 in hospital, six in ICU.

Today’s report also includes six historical deaths dating back to 16 March, which were reported to WA Health yesterday, one man in his 50s, two men in their 70s, three men in their 80s.

Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Notes:

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (223) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 6,082 cases, 2,177 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 3,905 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total 10,246 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 202,669 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
