No Falls November campaign
No Falls November campaign
The No Falls November campaign aims to raise awareness of falls prevention amongst people in hospital and residential aged care homes (RACHs).
Falls are one of the leading causes of injuries in hospitals for older Australians. Falls make up approximately 76 per cent of all injury hospitalisations and 70 per cent of injury deaths of adults aged 65 and over. Discussions between staff and consumers about falls prevention is key for staff to build confidence and consumers to gain knowledge on how to prevent falls.
Objectives
The objectives of the No Falls November 2025 campaign are to increase:
- Knowledge, attitude, skills and self-efficacy about risk factors for falls and how to prevent falls in older adults (admitted to hospital or residing in RACHs).
- Awareness of falls prevention in older adults in hospitals and RACHs among clinical staff.
- Ownership and accountability for consumer falls prevention in hospitals and RACHs by clinical staff.
- Clinical staff self-efficacy about raising awareness of falls prevention and engaging consumers in falls prevention activities.
